What is a Marketing Funnel

Apr 6

What is a marketing funnel? Why is it important for every marketer to have one?

It is a method of marketing that is used to convince potential customers to purchase products from your site. It is a process of selling that involves a person visiting your website to look up the information they need to help them solve their issue. However, via specific tools, you can learn how to build a relationship with each visitor.

This will allow you to better understand the needs of each visitor. This will allow you to provide the best information possible to all your visitors. If you gain the trust of a visitor, they will be more likely to purchase your products. The visitor then becomes a customer.

Certain customers turn out to be extremely loyal customers, ready to buy any product you promote. A marketing funnel consists of the different stages of sales will transform a regular website visitor into an extremely loyal customer who is willing to purchase everything you can throw at them.

This is the main objective of every internet marketer. It is achievable by utilizing a funnel that is well-designed.

You have your marketing resources catching people's attention and drawing them into your funnel. They enter the funnel once they fill out the forms on your PERSONAL lead capture page. I use the word "personal" because nobody will ever opt-in to your lead capture for business page. They want to join a leader, not a company.

The lead capture page is the entrance into the funnel. When they click that "Sign Up now" or "Enter Here" button, they enter a whole new concept of network marketing.

The best thing is that they're qualified to do it. It's their choice. You've not sold them anything except yourself as a leader, a mentor, and as someone that can help them get more leads and more money into their business.

This is how a typical marketing funnel works:

At the "front-end" you can offer a free offer to attract and qualify people who may have an interest to purchase your products further down the sales funnel. To get your free product you must join (also known as opt-in), and provide your email address and name. In turn you'll include them on your email list.

You can now add these contacts to your email list so that you can email them with any other offers that are relevant to them.

They'll be directed to a page that offers an offer for a lower price or a trip wire deal right after they sign up for the free offer. At this point, they will be taken to the "back end" of the funnel.

If they purchase the bargain priced offer then they'll be taken to another related offer with a higher cost (normally known as an upsell). The person will also be transferred to the next product when they purchase the same deal at a higher cost. The process could continue for several years.
